Story
The Gals for Cal triathlon team began with one mom, Cindy Quitzau and her son Cal, who was diagnosed with Duchenne 14 years ago. She wanted to challenge herself and challenge Duchenne while raising funds and awareness for Jett Foundation and the families we serve. Gals for Cal's dedication to this community has resulted in nearly $750,000 raised since their founding, which has provided vital support to Jett Foundation's mission of improving the lives of children and young adults impacted by Duchenne.
Today, the Gals for Cal team has grown from 10 friends and family that first year to well over 150 women over the past 13 years.
You dont need to know someone with Duchenne to be part of this team, but you can bike, swim, and run for those who cant. And, bask in the motivating and inspiring Go Gals! cheers along the route with every step you take!
This year, Jett Foundation will serve 250 campers through year-round virtual programs and summer camp sessions ; deliver nearly $800,000 of accessibility items and emergency assistance through the two branches of the Jett Giving Fund ; and reach hundreds of families through our educational webinars and family support groups held throughout the year. All of this is made possible thanks to the generosity of supporters like you. Together, we can ensure youth and families living with Duchenne and other neuromuscular disorders have access to therapies, education, and resources to live life to the fullest.
