The Jesup Memorial Library plays a critical role in our community. Your neighbors rely on the Jesup for the latest information, for entertainment and culture, and most importantly - for connection. Patrons come in for help filing financial forms as they face the unprecedented financial impact of COVID-19. Parents ask for resources and book suggestions for children suddenly at home. We have patrons whose only person-to-person interaction since March is here at the circulation desk. People who cannot risk the grocery store will still come to find new books, to chat with the staff, and to be a part of the Jesup community.

As we prepare for winter, the cost of the pandemic is clear. The Jesup has not been able to host our usual fundraisers this year. We had to truncate the annual booksale (our largest single fundraising event of the year). Our usual revenue streams have all but disappeared. This means that our Annual Campaign is responsible for an even greater share of our operating expenses.
