These uncertain times remind us of the critical work that must continue to be done to strengthen our communities. At Pace we are committed to minimizing the impact of this pandemic on our girls and their families, many of whom were already vulnerable before this challenge. During this crisis, our girls are highly vulnerable to dropping out of school and getting in trouble with the juvenile system
Therefore, we have quickly launched virtual counseling and an online academic platform so our girls can stay connected and receive the love and support they need and deserve. In launching this virtual support system, we found that 45% of our girls lacked the technology resources to become connected and supported. We have been working to provide them laptops, phones, and internet support to meet these needs.
My family struggled with so much before we found Pace. I was actually terrified of school from home because at this time last year it would have looked like a giant screaming match. My Pace girls have put their noses in their books. School from home has been EASY. We have not had talking back. We have not had blowups or fights or nasty attitudes. We have had extra work getting done, cooperation, HEALTHY COMMUNICATION! Its like a whole new family! I am so thankful because this would have not been possible without Pace! My kids are excelling! Thank you!
Food instability is another major issue making it harder for our girls to stay on track. Many of the girls are benefitting from mobile feeding stations the district has set up around the county but 25% of them do not have access to reliable transportation and the bus system has been reduced to only 15 riders at a time and not an option for the girls.
Pace came through in a big way for our family. They have provided us with food donations that my family of five need for survival. We appreciate their flexibility with our daughters education and assistance during this trying time.
Our girls depend on Pace to provide stability in their lives. This continues to be our number one priority and now, more than ever, WE NEED YOUR HELP. Through strong partnerships and your donations, we can continue to help our girls overcome the challenges they are facing in this pandemic and maintain the stability needed for their success.
Thank you for your continued commitment to Pace and, most importantly, our girls!
