Story

Here at Newport News Public Schools, were dedicated to promoting positive Youth Development while building the citizen-ready leaders of tomorrow. Menchvilles Fare Share Lead4Change Team has sponsored an annual food drive at Menchville High School in the fall for the past 7 years. In order to continue this tradition, they reached out to Newport News Youth Development department about creating a city-wide collaboration to support the Peninsula Foodbank. As such, the Newport News Public Schools Fall Canned Food Drive began. Please join us in supporting the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank as they need our support more now than ever!

Virginia Peninsula Foodbank serves families, seniors, and individuals that reside in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of Gloucester, James City, Mathews, Surry, and York. We inspire hope by leading the effort for a hunger-free and properly-nourished community.
