Story
Study abroad experiences are life-changing for students, yet many never even dream of participating, due to the financial investment required. This year, Oakton students are planning to study in Ghana at a cost of $8,000 each, which includes airfare, tuition, housing, meals, local transportation, and incidental expenses. These students are working hard to raise the financial resources needed to make this June 2024 trip a reality.
Dr. Joianne Smith, president of Oakton College, has issued a challenge -- 100 people each giving $100 by March 1 to raise $10,000 toward the goal!
Please join Dr. Smith in supporting our students as they endeavor to study at the University of Ghana for 3-1/2 weeks and travel throughout the country to expand their understanding of the history, culture, and community of Ghana.
