My father, Douglas M. Woods, was a selfless and passionate man whose life was defined by his commitment to helping others. Whether serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, working as a deputy in Madison County, IA, or supporting impactful causes such as the Salvation Army and Water for Life, he dedicated himself to making a difference.

However, his most profound legacy lies in his work with Des Moines Area Religious Council's Food Pantry. Over the span of ten years, Douglas helped raise over $800,000, a remarkable achievement that included over 2,000 gifts donated through his challenge.
