THE STRENGTH AND GRIT OF OUR YOUNG PEOPLE IS AWE-INSPIRING.

Living in neighborhoods at the epicenter of the pandemic, they faced increased COVID cases, heightened job loss, and food insecurity. In addition, they endured school closings, balancing responsibilities at home and school, and missing family and friends.

Through it all, SAYA youth proved time and again how resilient they are. Our incredible, indelible kids continued to show up for programs virtually and in-person. They threw themselves into college applications, community service, leadership activities, and volunteering to mentor their peers. 2021 even brought one of our largest college access cohorts - 100% of whom were accepted into college this past June.
