Story
Ravi and I first became involved with SAYA as volunteers and members of the college scholarship committee. Earlier this year, I was proud to join the board of the organization.
Over the past year and a half, our youth have faced unimaginable challenges living in neighborhoods at the epicenter of the pandemic--experiencing great hardship and heartache, facing higher numbers of recorded COVID cases, unemployment, and job loss, and food insecurity.
Through it all, SAYA youth proved time and again how resilient they are. Our incredible, indelible kids continued to show up for programs virtually and in person. They threw themselves into college applications, community service, leadership activities, and volunteering to mentor their peers. 2021 even brought one of our largest college access cohorts - 100% of whom were accepted into college this past June.
Our commitment remains steadfast as we continue to be amazed by the strength, dedication, and resilience of our young people. Join us in helping us reach our GivingTuesday goal of $500,000. Give today so that we may continue to have a meaningful, lasting impact on our youth.
