A gift to Watershed supports the center's work on many different levels - from the experience of resident artists and the ways that Watershed enriches the culture of Maine, to the important role that Watershed plays within national and international networks of ceramic artists.

Since 1986, Watershed has been providing intimate residencies for artists working in clay from around the country. Provided with a large studio and extensive kiln facilities, artists gather for two to six weeks to experiment and extend themselves, generating lifelong connections and insights along the way.

Through workshops, public talks, community events and educational outreach, Watershed makes art accessible to diverse audiences both regionally and nationwide.

Each year, one-third of our operating expenses is funded by generous supporters who help us to provide art-changing and life-changing experiences for artists at all stages of their careers.
