Thank You for Joining Us for the Walk for Water!
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, friends and supporters gathered at Bonavista Church for the Walk for Water. Whether you walked, donated, or cheered us on, we are so grateful for your support in bringing safe, clean water to communities in Burkina Faso. Even though the event has passed, it’s not too late to make a difference!

Why We Walk
Last summer, you came together to support the right of every person to have safe, clean water. Thanks to your incredible efforts through the 2024 Walk for Water, more than 800 students and 30 staff at La Bonne Nouvelle School in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, now have reliable access to clean drinking water for the very first time.

Building on that success, the 2025 Walk for Water is raising funds for the village of Ziasso, Burkina Faso.
Ziasso faces extreme poverty and a harsh, dry climate, with drought lasting nine months of the year. The village’s single well often runs dry, and even when water is available, it is unsafe and poses serious health risks. Women and girls walk long distances for water from rivers or shallow wells, which are frequently contaminated with bacteria and waste, spreading cholera, typhoid, and dysentery. With no proper toilets in the village, open defecation is common, further polluting water sources and endangering the community’s health.
Your continued support will help drill two boreholes and build five latrines with handwashing stations, providing safe, reliable water and improved sanitation for Ziasso.
