About us
Friends of Victoria Park Stretford (FOVPS) is a volunteer-led community group dedicated to protecting, improving, & bringing life to Victoria Park for the benefit of everyone who uses it. We work in partnership with local residents, community organisations, & the council to ensure the park remains a safe, welcoming, & inclusive green space.
Our activities include caring for park facilities, maintaining green spaces, supporting biodiversity, & organising community events & volunteer sessions. We also manage & support the park’s community building & cafe, which provides a vital space for meetings, activities, children’s groups, creative projects, & social connection throughout the year.
FOVPS plays an important role in tackling isolation, supporting wellbeing, and encouraging people of all ages to enjoy and take pride in their local park. We believe access to high-quality green spaces and community facilities is essential for physical health, mental wellbeing, and strong neighbourhoods.
As a small, volunteer-run organisation, we rely on fundraising, donations, & grants to cover core costs such as utilities, insurance, maintenance, equipment, and volunteer support. Every contribution helps us keep Victoria Park thriving as a shared community asset—now & for future generations.
