Afewee is a youth-focused charity based in the heart of Brixton. We use sports, particularly football and boxing, as tools for social mobility and community upliftment. Our programs teach young people essential life skills such as discipline, resilience, and teamwork, while also boosting their confidence and self-esteem. By fostering a sense of belonging, we empower youth to transfer these skills to their academic and future employment pursuits, ultimately helping them create brighter futures. Afewee aims to establish a safe space for local youth, offering a positive alternative to knife crime and anti-social behavior. We seek funding to secure a building for counseling and to host events and workshops that explore various career paths beyond sports. This initiative will encourage youth to pursue education and explore apprenticeship opportunities. Additionally, we are looking to hire a dedicated full-time fundraiser to help grow and sustain our charity operations, ensuring we can continue making a meaningful impact in the community.
