About us

We are a patient led support group active in Coventry and Warwickshire. We work to raise awareness of the risks of prostate cancer and to promote early diagnosis. We also support men and their families and carers to live well as possible with prostate cancer. We hold Prostate Health Awareness events to encourage men aged 40 and over to have a simple PSA (blood) test to assess the health of their prostate and, where necessary, take further action via their GP. Early prostate cancer often has no symptoms and so the aim is to catch it in these early stages when it can be treated and cured. We also meet regularly to support men and their families/carers who are affected by prostate cancer. We work closely with clinicians and nurses at UHCW and the George Eliot hospitals to make these meetings as relevant as possible. An essential aim is to demystify the condition and its treatment to allow people to get on with their lives as positively as possible. We also encourage activities such a walking football - which is amazingly popular.
