Our charity provides secure, affordable almshouse accommodation for individuals facing financial hardship who have a strong connection to the Hawkhurst and surrounding parishes. We aim to prevent and relieve poverty by offering safe, well-maintained homes to people who would otherwise struggle to find suitable housing locally. Almshouses create more than just accommodation — they offer community, stability, and dignity. Residents live independently in a supportive environment that promotes wellbeing, reduces loneliness, and helps vulnerable people remain rooted in the area they call home. Our trustees oversee the homes, maintain the buildings, and ensure that each resident is selected based on genuine need.
