Top Five Movies to Watch on Easter

Dying Easter eggs, cute bunnies, adorable lil' chickens, chocolate rabbits, baskets full of candy...what else does Easter remind you of? Like other holidays, everyone has their own traditions. Every holiday has their own movies that get you in the mood to celebrate. With Christmas there's "The Christmas Story", Halloween any scary movie works, even Groundhog Day has its own special movie. So, what about Easter? After much thinking and researching, I have come up with my own top five movies to watch on Easter free on 123 movies . While these movies do not directly pertain to the holiday, they contain Easter related items, (mostly rabbits).

1.)Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

This 1988 comedy is an animated combined with live action movie about a private investigator caught in the middle of a mystery involving Roger Rabbit. This is a hilarious movie following the mystery of a murder in which Roger Rabbit is framed. Of course, there is no mention of Easter, but the main character is a rabbit! This movie can be entertaining for both kids and adults.

2.)Alice in Wonderland

This movie is based on the 1865 novel written by Lewis Carroll. Young Alice is fighting boredom when she sees a white rabbit in which she decides to follow. In doing so, she falls down a hole which leads to many adventures that are pure nonsense. Once again, this is not about the Holiday of Easter, but the story revolves around a white rabbit. This movie is great for kids and adults.

3.)Donnie Darko

This movie is directed more to the adult audience. The story begins as a young teenager, possibly suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, ceases to take his medication. He begins to see end of the world visions, all shown to him by Frank, a man in a scary looking rabbit costume. This isn't a cute little rabbit, but the movie shows a different take on the animal.

4.)40 days and 40 Nights

This is a 1998 romantic comedy film created for the adult audience. The main character, played by Josh Hartnett, decides to abstain from any sexual activity for 40 days and 40 nights, the entire time of Lent. Of course, different circumstances make his vow difficult for him to keep. The entire movie takes place during Lent, which is part of a Christian's celebration of lent.

5.) Bambi

This classic 1942 Disney film is a great movie that takes place mostly in the springtime. Easter is the spring time holiday that gets us all excited for the beautiful weather and outdoor activities to come. Bambi is a young deer who learns about life in the forest and its dangers. He also learns to enjoy his environment and make friends with other animals, such as the cute rabbit, Thumper.

There are films that do pertain more to the holiday; however, I have not had firsthand experience watching them. This list is comprised of 5 movies that I have seen that make me think of Easter in some way or another. All these films can be found in any store that sell or rent movies.
