Story

Peace everyone!

My name is Lauren Booth and I am walking 100 miles in May to raise funds towards my brother in law Chris Laycock's treatement for Stage 4 brain cancer. Chris is a loving dad of three, brother, son, husband, and friend. Up until March 2021, he was a healthy guy who loved going to the gym, travelling the world, having fun with friends, and spending time with my family.

His life has been turned upside down when he was diagnosed with, not one but, TWO brain tumours. The main one is a stage 4 Glioblastoma: Inoperable and taking over the left-side of his brain. This affects the whole of the right-side of his body & speech.

Good news: There is a special clinic in, IOZK,Germany specialists in Immuno-Oncological Therapy this uses and strengthens the immune system in the fight against cancer and sustainably activates it against new cancer cell growth. It is WORKING! The first two rounds have shrunk the tumours. Now £50k is needed for the next round of treatment.

Support My 100 Miles In May Walk For Chris

It won’t be easy, that’s why it’s a challenge. But it will be rewarding, and generate much needed funds & awareness for Chris’ appeal.

Why 100 Miles?

From Chris’ front door to Hull port is exactly 100 miles. Chris travels from Hull port every four weeks for his treatment in Germany. Let’s get Chris back on the boat to Germany for his next personalised treatment in May.

Donate if you can: Every pound gets Chris a little bit closer to getting this life-saving treatment - we can't thank you enough.

Share this story: Please help raise awareness of our campaign by sharing my story with your friends and online.

Do a fundraiser too: Please consider this as your next fundraising effort! Especially if you want to do something enjoyable and healthy!

Thank you all!
