As one of Rose’s best friends and a swimmer at Harlow Penguins I am organising a sponsored swim to raise money to support Rose's family. Myself and some other members of Harlow Penguins aim to swim 100,000m (4000 lengths) equivalent of 62 miles by the end of September. To raise money we are asking if people could make a one off donation or sponsor a swimmer 10p for each length they complete. I miss Rose so much and would like to raise as much money as possible, if you could donate anything you can any funds that are not needed by the family will be donated to the BEAT & MIND charities which have helped provide support and advice to Rose And her family

Covid 19 has had an impact on many families but none so much as the Grady family. 2020 put them to the test but they could never have imagined that 2021 was going to get so much worse with life long challenges and implications for their family.

Susie was already dealing with her mum being diagnosed with a degenerating brain disease and then her dad getting seriously ill as well, however more recently they have had their world blown apart by the sudden serious illness that has struck their beloved older daughter Rose. She has now been in hospital for over 4 months. There has been no formal diagnosis in this time but they have been told she has had a severe mental breakdown which has caused debilitating physical side effects meaning that Rose can no longer perform basic tasks like self care.

Susie and Peter's world has experienced financial difficulty, with Susie having to give up her self employed work, and Pete has to make sure he can dedicate his time to looking after their other beloved daughter meaning work has to come second.
