The Meban Family tackle 2 million steps to raise funds for NIPANC
Despite being separated by countries and COVID restrictions, the Meban family have managed to stay in contact over the past year through regular Zoom quizzes and virtual birthday celebrations. However, we want to (quite literally) step up efforts to stay connected through a collaborative charity challenge.
Brian and Siobhan in Portaferry, Meghan and Jonny in Ballymena, Ruairi and Jill in Essex, Anna and Jack in Belfast, Declan in Cumbria, and Bethany in Brussels are going to walk a combined 2 million steps (or approximately 1000 miles) throughout April to raise funds for Northern Ireland Pancreatic Cancer (NIPANC).
Pancreatic cancer is a major health issue for Northern Ireland and sadly, only 1% of those diagnosed will reach 10-year survival.
As a charity, NIPANC increases public understanding of pancreatic cancer, promotes awareness of the signs and symptoms to both medical professionals and members of the public, funds vital research, and supports patients and their families.
Please help by donating or sharing this page to raise funds and awareness. We will keep you up to date with our progress but we’re a competitive bunch so hopefully should have no problem hitting our steps target.
