Story
This October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a group of us from Gusto Research are taking on a 1,000-mile challenge. Together, we'll be walking, running and cycling the equivalent distance from Leeds to Stornoway and back.
We're doing it to help bring the Huddle to life, a new charitable initiative I'm setting up to provide free, stage-specific care packages for people undergoing breast cancer treatment in Leeds.
Why The Huddle?
I founded the Huddle following my own breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. I'm still on my journey, but I wanted help others going through theirs.
I know how much the little things can matter during treatment. That's why the Huddle's care packages are being developed around the practical needs and comforts that can make a difference at different stages, including chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and hormone therapy. Every detail, right down to what goes into each box, is shaped by my own experience.
Why we're taking on 1,000 miles?
I'm incredibly grateful to Gusto Research for supporting me throughout my diagnosis and treatment, and now for getting behind the Huddle and helping us raise funds.
Our goal is simple: £1 for every mile we cover. Raising £1,000 would give the Huddle a brilliant start towards getting everything in place and preparing our very first care packages.
Every donation, whatever the amount, will help us take another step towards supporting people receiving breast cancer treatment.
If you're able to donate, share our challenge or cheer us on, we'd be so grateful.
Together, we can help bring a little more comfort to treatment, one box at a time. 💗
Thank you for helping us getting the Huddle started.
