Three Facts:
1) Of those children who failed to achieve a level 4 in English at the end of Primary School in 2009, only 1 in 10 went on to achieve good GCSE results.
2) After leaving school the average person reads no more than 5 books in the rest of their life time.
3) Benefits of reading for every age group include: mental stimulation, reduce stress, increase knowledge, expand vocabulary, improve memory, develop empathy, improve social skills and appreciate the needs of others.
