This fundraiser was inspired by a wonderful volunteer, Sadie, who purchased several of my bilingual children’s books to take with her while volunteering at a children’s hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Seeing the books travel with her — and knowing they would be shared with children and families during treatment — made me realise how much more we could do together.

Hospitals can be overwhelming places for children. Familiar language and familiar stories can offer comfort, connection and a sense of normality during uncertain moments.

This campaign will allow 100 bilingual Spanish-English books to be printed and delivered directly to the children’s hospital and to the State Public Library of Jalisco, where they will be available for children and families to read and share.

Every pound raised will go toward printing, international shipping and customs costs. No profit will be taken.

If we exceed our goal, every additional £4 raised will fund another book.
