Raising money for...
Our beautiful, wonderful, inspirational friend, Vickie Simmonds, has had her life turned upside down since she developed sepsis in October 2020 and went into septic shock. Sepsis can be life threatening, but our girl battled through it only to be diagnosed with 2 extremely rare conditions that are each another threat to her life. These conditions require urgent medical care that unfortunately isn't available on the NHS, so we are raising money to fund her private medical treatment.
To give you an idea of the cost, so far her family have paid out in excess of £10,000 to provide her with the treatment she needs.
The numbers will continue to go up as Vickie continues to fight to get back to some sort of normality with her health.
Our challenge
We have decided to take on the whole of the Cotswold Way, which is 102 miles, at the end of August. We will be walking the whole route within 5 days, stopping each night at B&B's en route. We wanted to pick something that will be a challenge, to reflect the challenge that Vickie is facing. It will be tough, but we know we can do it with her as inspiration. Her strength is second to none, and everything we raise will be a testament to how amazing she is, and help to get her back to the Vickie we know and love sooner.
We might get sore feet, blisters, be chased by cows, have arguments, bend our backs out of shape, produce more sweat than you've ever seen, and screw our knees up a bit... But we won't be giving up, because our girl doesn't.
