Story

Many of you have met and obtained guidance from our Senior Monk at The Plantation Villa in both the UK and Sri Lanka. His birthday falls in early April and in honour of that we have decided to offer a goods hamper (consisting of all the goods a new mother and baby would need) to 100 pregnant mothers from underprivileged backgrounds.

Given rapid rise in cost of living in Sri Lanka, many such families are struggling. Our monk says many such mothers are worried how they can care for their yet to be born child, and this worry in turn can negatively impact the child they are carrying in their womb. Therefor he would like to ease the suffering and worry of these mothers.

We did this last year too and it was very rewarding. This year we decided to open up and offer this opportunity to anyone who wants to be a part of this: either because you want to help these women or out of gratitude for our monk. Or it could simply be for both reasons. For whatever reason if you would like to be a part of this project, you have the ability to donate via our fundraising page.

We have estimated the cost of a goods hamper per mother to be to £70 and we welcome you to donate as little as £5 towards one of these. You can donate as many hampers as you wish!
