Story

The four-week experience consists of several community action projects working with the Cambodian people at three different Camps International sub-camps. These projects will include building schools, houses and toilets. There will also be a wide range of environmental schemes we will take part in, such as tree-planting and beach cleaning. As part of the expedition I will also complete a challenging five-day trek through the Cambodian jungle.

The expedition is immersed in Cambodian culture and we will learn about the history of the country, with visits to the iconic Angkor Wat temple, the floating village on Tonle Sap Lake, the Siem reap Night Markets and the Killing Fields and S21 Prison. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will help develop my teamwork, physical and interpersonal skills, not only whilst on the expedition, but also in the run-up to it as I fundraise and prepare. It will also provide invaluable, long-lasting help in Cambodia, as the projects and their objectives have been agreed with the local people.

I have already raised £2,421.94 towards the expedition cost through various fundraising events over the past two years. On the 24th of March, I will be doing my next fundraiser - a sponsored 10K run. I will be running the Morton and Gainsborough 10K for the second year in the row, hoping to beat my time last year of 52 minutes and also wanting to get even closer to my grand total. Any donation you can please sponsor me with would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
