Help 1151 (Wallsend) Air Cadets Raise £2,000 for a Life-Saving Defibrillator!
At 1151 (Wallsend) Air Cadets, the safety and wellbeing of our cadets, staff, parents and visitors is incredibly important to us.
We are launching a fundraising appeal to raise £2,000 to purchase a defibrillator (AED) and a training defibrillator for the squadron.
Why do we need a defibrillator?
A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any time, and every second matters. A defibrillator can deliver an electrical shock to someone experiencing a cardiac arrest, helping to restore a normal heart rhythm.
Having an AED readily available at our squadron could potentially save a life while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.
Our squadron is used regularly by young people, staff, parents, volunteers and visitors. Having a defibrillator on site would give us an important additional piece of emergency equipment and provide reassurance to everyone who uses our building.
Why do we also want a training defibrillator?
We don't just want to have the equipment — we want our staff and cadets to know how to use it.
A training defibrillator will allow us to run realistic training sessions, giving people the opportunity to practise what to do during a cardiac emergency in a safe environment.
Training can help people:
• Recognise the signs of a cardiac arrest
• Understand how to perform CPR
• Learn how to use an AED safely
• Build confidence in dealing with an emergency
• Understand how to work with the emergency services
The more people who know what to do in an emergency, the better prepared our community will be.
Help us reach our £2,000 target
We are asking our friends, families, local businesses, supporters and the wider Wallsend community to help us reach our target.
Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help us get closer to purchasing this potentially life-saving equipment.
£5, £10, £20 or whatever you can afford could make a real difference.
Our aim isn't simply to purchase a defibrillator — it's to create a safer environment and give our cadets and staff the knowledge and confidence to potentially save a life.
Please consider donating and sharing our JustGiving page with your friends, family and colleagues.
Thank you for supporting 1151 (Wallsend) Air Cadets and helping us put life-saving equipment where it could make a difference when it matters most.
