Story
In September 2022, Debbie and Carol visited Mayfield school. They shared the incredible story of the Sandra Jones Centre, a home for abused and trafficked young girls; and about Malibongwe Primary School, set up to educate the children they have taken in; and Kidz Kan- their outreach initiative, to empower potential victims of abuse. All these ministries form the Singabantwana Network. ("Singabantwana" means "We stand for children" in nDebele) Their story touched our hearts, and we adopted this mission for our whole school charity for this year.
To celebrate 150 years of Mayfield School on this site, we have set a swimming challenge for all members of the Mayfield Community- 150 lengths of our pool (or 3750 metres), to be completed on the 14th and 16th November. All sponsorship will go towards the incredible work of SIngabantwana
