    Story

Gavin and friends/family are doing the coast to coast bike ride (Whitehaven to South Shields) from the 26-28th May in memory of Lisa Kelly who was tragically taken away from us on March 15th 2017 whilst also raising funds as a show of appreciation to community corner and Bamburgh School for things they have done for Lisa's family since her death.

The money raised will be split between the two chosen receipients for them to use on anything they deem suitable.

Firstly Community Corner are an amazing local charity who help out people/groups in the local community, whether it be to cover costs of a funeral or enable local groups to be able to buy equipment that they need and so on. The work they have done since Lisas death is unbelievable. They not only covered the costs of Lisa's funeral they also gave Lisa and Gavins twins girls £1000 each to spend on a family holiday when they feel upto it.

Second receipient is Bamburgh School. This was Lisa's place of work, a place she loved, full of people she loved, her second home. She worked tirelessly to do anything possible to make sure school was a place "her kids" enjoyed coming and also worthwhile so that they left with qualifications to help them achieve whatever walk of life they decided to venture into once their education at Bamburgh had came to an end.

Also as a show of appreciation for Lisa's work and to her family, Bamburgh asked Gavin if they could cover the cost of the headstone for Lisa's place of rest.

Here is what a work colleague had to say about Lisa and the things she strived for:

"Lisa was very committed to finding and resourcing adaptations for children with physical difficulties, constantly seeking out new equipment to allow all children to be inclusive and have the same opportunities as other children. We are constantly trying to seek funds to support and make improvements, this is an ongoing challenge depending on the needs of individual children throughout the school"

      Update from the Page owner

The justgiving page officially closed at midnight last night, I cant actually believe how much we raised on this alone, words cannot express the gratefulness of everyone. So minus the 5% justgiving take for enabling us to use the site thats £3004.85 to be split between community corner and Bamburgh school then we have the buckets the girls had on the finishing line, sponsorship money from other lads forms and buckets in various businesses/pubs around south tyneside to come in. Thank you so much everyone who donated and sent their support 😘
