As Explorers we are the oldest section in our troop. Scouting has been a part of our lives for many years and we hope to continue it into our adult lives as well. Scouting is all about building confidence and self-esteem, learning important life and leadership skills, team building, outdoor adventure, education, and fun! We want to raise funds for our section so we can continue to do new and exciting things that help with all of the above.

As well as this our troop is like a family. Recently we have had a member of the group affected by cancer and although she is well on her way to recovery we want to also raise funds towards cancer research! Our plan is to split any money raised evenly between our group and a cancer research charity!

"Doing this walk benefits us as a group because raising money allows us to do more activities and potentially buy things for the section. Fundraising contributes towards a badge for us, which benefits us in scouting. Also raising money for cancer research is important not only because it helps towards finding cures and better treatments for the disease, but it has also affected one of our leaders, so by raising money for this cause we are showing our support" -Hanna, section member
