Hello and thank you for visiting my page.

In January 2017 I’m going to volunteer for 3 weeks for Green life project in Sumatran Rainforest (Indonesia) offering them my own time and hands.I would like to raise as much money possible and the £3000.00 will buy 1 Hectare of land in Sumatra and help to extend the rainforest. Every Hectare will help to reach the long term goal!
I love nature and feel that our own survival depends on it very much. Rainforest’s are the Earth’s lungs which are under threat of disappearing completely! I’m grateful that I live in time where I can do something about it even with very limited resources that one ordinary person can have. With your help more can be done.

Something about the organisation.
Their purpose is to preserve the rainforest for future generations and protect its habitat which is near to extinction due the massive deforestation for things like palm oil fields and agriculture. There are also many poachers who hunt the very few animals left for Chinese medicines, trophies or pet trade.
This amazing organisation works around the Gunung Leuser National Park in Sumatra. They buy land around the park. So far they have managed to buy 67 Hectares and these reserves are left for nature to take over again, becoming part of the park. There are two sites in the reserves for the organisation and its volunteers to guard the reserves against poachers, farmers and anyone who would interfere and endanger the forest or animals.Please visit their page for more info http://greenlifeproject.org/

What I will be doing
I spend 3 weeks in the rainforest involved in following activities.
Maintenance of the reserve – manual labour and construction.
Anti-poaching patrols – monitoring the camera traps and looking for evidence of poaching such as traps, fires and camps.
Cooking tasks
Tiger House (Small education centre) – helping with teaching the local children.
