1st Viewpark Boys' Brigade have been travelling to Switzerland every two years, the most recent trip was scheduled to have taken place in 2021. This had to be postponed because of Covid and is now due to take place this summer. The visit is always timed to coincide with Swiss National Day on August 1st and the boys join in the celebrations by marching with the parade through the town, cheered on by the local people who have become accustomed and expect the boys to be there. The company works hard to keep the costs down for the boys by fundraising to cover the costs of the activities enjoyed whilst they are there. These fundraising activities include bag packing at local shops. These fundraising activities have had to be curtailed because of continuing Covid restrictions, so funds raised for this year's trip are well down on what would normally have been collected. This will significantly impact upon the activities the boys can get involved in. So, David and Stuart have decided to do our bit by climbing Ben Nevis.
