THE BILSTHORPE STANDARD (flag) HAS BEEN STOLEN

Bilsthorpe Scouts has been in the village now for 90 years providing a safe place for children from 6 to 14 to grow and learn things in a safe and enjoyable environment, many of you have been to a community event organised by the scouts, coffee mornings, games nights, table top sales the list goes on. And how many of you have followed the procession on remembrance Sunday? and watched with pride as the flags have been raised and lowered to remember our fallen hero's.

so let me get to the point;

After 40 years of being part of the scouts group Mike decided it was time to hang up his necker. And as a parting gift purchased 3 new Standards (Flags) these are used in the many parades the children take part in.

The scouts have just come back from the Walesby World of Experience international camp. I can tell you the Scouts had an amazing time, BUT sadly this is where the happy story ends. The new Standard (Flag) has been stolen, yes the new flag that so brilliantly represents everything scouts represents. Was Stolen on the last evening. This was a despicable act by some lowlife, the scouts and leaders are devastated as are Mike and Una. They urgently need a new one but funds are low and they are over £300. What will the remembrance Sunday parade be without the scouts and their flag.

So now i'm asking for your help please please please can we come together to help buy a new one lets all put our hands in our pockets even if its a £1 and show support to our local scouts, beavers and cubs and lets get them a new one.
