Story

The Montane Spine Race for Lou & Girls.

On Sunday, 11th January at 08:00, I will be setting off on a 268-mile race up the spine of England and into Scotland. I’ve done many ultra races over the years that have tested me to the core, but this beast is another level!

As with many of my madder runs, I like to raise a bit of cash for a good cause…

This year, I’ve thought long and hard about where or who I’d like to raise money for.

Whilst running last year, we had a very tragic incident where a fellow runner had a cardiac arrest. CPR was given continuously for 40 minutes by trained first aiders until the ambulance arrived and they took over. Despite everyone’s best efforts, Alyn never made it.

Al’s wife, Louise, twin daughters, Sophia and Evie, now have a massive hole in their lives that can never be filled.

In some small way, I would like to help by raising money for the girls to put to a good cause that their dad would be proud of and approve.

This could be sporting equipment, therapy sessions, or simply a break to get away and recharge their souls.

Every penny raised will go to the girls, and while it may not take the loss away, it may help them move forward in life a little more, stronger, and happier.

Thank you

Dave Douglas.
