Challenge 1 - UK - The Liverpool Rock n' Roll Marathon - COMPLETED

Everyone communicates. We all use different ways to tell people our thoughts, opinions, wishes and needs. Most people do this through speech, but if you have difficulty speaking then how do you tell people your thoughts, needs? A lot of people within the UK rely on the use of Assistive Technology to communicate and live more independent lives. Unfortunately this is a very under resourced provision, especially within Wales.

A fantastic group of talented professionals are currently developing an Assistive Technology service for Adults with Learning Disabilities (ALD) within Cardiff. In order to provide a well resourced and fully supported service, more funding for equipment such as tablets, environmental controls and software needs to be sort. On 20th May 2018 I completed challenge 1 - The Liverpool Rock n' Roll Marathon. With your kindness and donations we have been able to really help very vulnerable adults to communicate more effectively within Cardiff.

Challenge 2 - Africa - Kilimanjaro Marathon

Yellow House currently provides free Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) to some of Western Kenya’s poorest and most stigmatised communities. The goal at Yellow House is that SaLT will be integrated across public health and education services. It costs Yellow House £4 to provide one SaLT session. By donating now, you enable Yellow House to continue lobbying for the recognition of this much needed profession within society, while providing a valuable, effective and high standard of service to any one who walks through their doors!! This is no mean feet! I will therefore be running the Kilimanjaro Marathon on 3rd March 2019...in the heat and increased altitude! With your help we can help provide Yellow House with the funds to continue providing fantastic service and raise awareness of people with a disability in Kenya.
