I've raised £3000 to get more people talking about Mental Health issues

ONE in four of us is affected by some sort of mental issue. But maybe only one in four of that one in four ever properly addresses those issues and takes back control of our lives.
Of that one in every 16 sufferers, some get stronger through medication, others through talking, others again through exercise.
The first of these is highly recommended; please treat mental problems the way you would physical ones, by going to see a doctor and taking the first, crucial step to recovery.
The other two? They’re sometimes tougher to commit to, because opening up to even those closest to us can take a massive effort, a huge swallowing of pride, while the energy we need to get out and get our bodies fitter sometimes just isn’t there when our minds feel worn out.
But here’s the thing - or rather, two things.
1. That it’s OK to not feel OK, and
2. You are far, far from being alone in feeling this way.
And that’s why Stephen Templeton and I, with the support of Michael Hynes at Boiler Room Fitness and all at the Western Tennis Club and Caffe Parma, have set up this event, a unique 24-hour programme of exercise for mind and body, with all proceeds split between two amazing charities - the Scottish Association for Mental Health and Common Wheel..
From 3pm on Saturday May 5 until 3pm Sunday, we invite you to get on a bike, grab a tennis racquet or join in a gym class to help raise funds for two wonderful mental health charities, SAMH and Common Wheel.
Just as importantly, thought, we invite you to come and talk, to listen, to share. We’ll have a space where you can rest between sessions, listen to experts in mental health and complementary therapies - and, if you feel like it, to talk to others who might just be or have been going through whatever you’re going through right now.

And please, please, share this post with your friends. Because you never know who it might just touch a nerve with. And trust me, if we can make a difference to even that one person, this event will have been 100 per cent worthwhile.
Love & Peace.
Bill and Stephen.
PS...when we’re done, it’s off to the bar to celebrate Boiler Room’s third birthday...
