The Ocean Sports Youth community are a group of young people aged 13-17, who are taking on a mammoth 24 hour round the clock paddle in Carbis Bay to raise much needed funds for their club! They will be taking it in shifts every hour in groups of 3! 

Over the last year, this group have developed their paddling skills, confidence, teamwork and independence. In April 2026 they entered the 3 Creeks Race in Helford - paddling and steering their own boats as a junior crew. It is believed that this is the first time in the UK that a junior group has competed in this way! 

They would love to be able to raise much needed funds for their club with this sponsored paddle - so they can expand on the opportunities for the members! This will enable them to continue to grow this unique programme helping more young people in Cornwall experience the social, physical and mental benefits of paddling! 

The Ocean Sports Youth are raising £8,000 to buy two new outrigger canoes and Ilaku (bespoke wooden struts) that will enable our Youth club members to complete a self led Voyage along the Cornish Coast. Enabling more youngsters to access the ocean and providing a legacy for our younger club members for years to come.

Due to strong conditions paddling through the night was not a safe option and we have rescheduled for Sept 11th & 12th to complete this challenge - so if you missed donating don't worry we have a little more time left.
