Story

On the 11 June 2022 I will be running the Exmoor Trail Challenge Marathon, North Devon, which is known for its ‘gruelling test of endurance’, to help raise money for my incredible friend Charlie who needs life saving neurological surgery in Barcelona. The specialist neurosurgeon, Dr Gilete is able to treat spinal complications that are all part of Charlie’s rare disease called Classical Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

Two years ago Charlie underwent surgery on her skull and neck, giving her spinal fusion and juglar vein decompression. This surgery went very very well, but unfotunatly Charlies condition is complex so she now needs our help to raise funds to help her get a tethered cord release surgery for her Occult Tethered Cord. This will be with the same fantastic neurosurgeon in Barcelona as the first operation.

At the present moment Charlie’s spinal cord is tethered to the inside of her spinal colomn causing nerve damage and putting too much tension on her spine, and spinal fusion. Without this surgery Charlie will be putting her life as she knows it in danger.

Thank you for all your support and donations, please dont forget to share this page!
