Story

Our squadron and all who attend relies heavily on the use of a minibus. It was stolen from Croespenmaen between Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January. It allows us to deliver the cadets all the activities and experiences we have to offer.

This bus belongs to "the cadets" and has been financed using money they raised from bag packing tirelessly over a number of years. The cadets rarely fund raise for their own cause but instead dedicate their time to helping charities such as the Royal British Legion, the Royal Air Force Association and Tickled Pink.

The minibus is used on a weekly basis to take cadets to and from all the various activities that we as a squadron undertake. Not being able to call upon such an asset will truly have a massive impact on the type and amount of activities we can now attend.

If we have no minibus we will have to cancel some events and will be limited in what we can offer the children. If we cannot offer a lot, understandably this will hit our membership levels.

Whilst we are insured, the settlement figure is expected to be significantly less than the cost of a replacement bus. We intend on investing in additional security for the new bus as well as affording a secure storage location to prevent a this crime from happening again.

The sooner we can replace the vehicle, the sooner we can get back to doing what we do best - that is: flying, shooting, adventure training, Duke of Edinburgh awards, sports, museum visits, camps and much more!
