Story
We are raising funds to help My wife (Rosey McNally) get the necessary treatments to get her quality of life back.
Two Hips One Knee Fundraiser was set up to help get Rosey McNally (Gregg McNally’s wife) the necessary treatment to get her quality of life back after being diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis (AVN) back in 2017. AVN as it’s more commonly known as is disease that results from the temporary or permanent loss of blood supply to the bone. When blood supply is cut off, the bone tissue dies and the bone collapses. If avascular necrosis happens near a joint, the joint surface may collapse. This condition may happen in any bone.
After seeing many doctors through the NHS, they refused to treat Rosey’s condition due to her age. Rosey was told to wait a number of years before the could even consider replacements. We decided as a family that we would go private, get her the help and treatments she needs to get her life back whilst being able to enjoy her two young children. Thankfully, we met Dr Edwards (the welsh wizard as we call him) over in Hull who is experienced in AVN and offered to help. He has been fantastic so far, we‘ve raised enough money to have one of Rosey’s hips replaced, which has been life changing! Rosey’s other hip and both knees will need doing in the future, one of the knees is going to need what is called a ”complex primary replacement”. This is triple what one hip costs so there is alot of more fundraising to do in the future to get Rosey this.
Myself plus……….(names will be revealed in good time) will be biking from Leigh to Huddersfield and back to hopefully raise alot of money to help with Rosey’s treatments. We’re all not known for biking so this will ne a massive challenge for us. 42.9 miles there, 42.9 miles back, 85.9 miles in total (132km) all in one day!
Please dig deep and donate as best you can, no matter how big or small! Every penny counts to help Rosey and show your support of this challenge!
Thank you - Gregg & Team Two Hips One Knee 😘
