I've raised £2250 to 2 Signal Regiment are aiming to raise £2,250 to buy three "There But not There" 6ft Tommy figures for St Oswald's Church and Imphal Barracks

“There But Not There” aims to place a representative figure for each name on local war memorial, into their place of worship, their school, their workplace or wherever their absence was keenly felt. It is hoped that by Remembrance 2018 these figures will be the defining centenary commemoration of the end of the 1914-1918 war, installed where the men and women came from across the country, back in the communities they left behind. The project aims to: Commemorate those who died in the First World War; to Educate all generations, particularly today’s younger generation, born nearly 100 years after the outbreak of WW1; Heal today’s veterans who are suffering from the mental and physical wounds of their service by raising substantial funds through sales of the Silhouette Tommy figures.
The aim is to raise enough money to purchase a 6ft Tommy figure for St Oswold’s Church in Fulford and two figures to accompany the memorial wall on Imphal Barracks . However, the more money we raise the more figures we can purchase for the local community. We will be taking part in a number of fundraising events over the coming months including cake sales, non-uniform day, a sponsored row to name a few.
Your assistance in contributing or assisting fund raising for this worthy cause is greatly appreciated.
