I've raised £1000 to support military veterans suffering from PTSD

3 blokes taking a knackered car to the desert, and then limping home after 1000 miles of heat, sand and sunburn, all in an attempt to raise just £1 per mile! We'll be taking a circuitous route around Morocco, tracing some of the original Dakar rally route in a crappy Peugeot Partner (assuming the old girl makes it through Europe and over the Gibraltar Strait), before heading home. We've got 16 days to get around the circuit, and we're working with Driven to Extremes to do it.
Driven to Extremes is an organisation that supports military veterans suffering from PTSD by taking them on challenging vehicle adventures as part of their recovery. The relentless pace ensures that the veterans are overwhelmed with new and rapidly changing experiences. Operating in remote and challenging environments, working as valued members of a close-knit team and the support within, opportunities for leadership and military banter helps push horrific memories to the back of their minds.
Recovery comes in 3 phases:
Engage: Get veterans back into a team and focused on a clear goal by driving to an extreme location .
Support: Veterans then act as Support Crew for future vehicle adventures and fund-raising rallies .
Lead: With confidence regained, veterans become Leaders of these adventures and rallies.
The ultimate aim of Driven to Extremes is to not only help veterans with their recovery, but provide a source of employment for them in an adventurous team- based environment, be that full, part time or freelance.
Please see a short film below of last year's 4x4 adventure to the most extreme northerly point of the UK:

This will act as the first of a new annual fund-raising event in which we hope that tens of vehicles will take part, led and supported by recovering veterans.
The 3 idiots in this particular team have ZERO mechanical knowledge, VERY LITTLE cross-country/rough terrain driving experience, and no real idea of what this event will look like after crossing the Strait of Gibraltar into Tangier. Please support as much as you can!
