Weʼre raising £3,500 to fund the transportation and tyre profiling of the bogie and trailing truck wheelsets.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

Following General Steam Navigations successful boiler lift and separation of the trailing truck from the frames, the General Steam Navigation Locomotive Restoration Society is now seeking funds to help overhaul the front bogie and trailing truck wheelsets.
The work is to be undertaken by South Devon Railway Engineering and it's estimated that the trailing truck axle will be sent own to the SDRE in late 2020. This is where we need your help we are fundraising to help cover as much as the cost as possible with the target being set at £3,500.

Work has begun cleaning up the trailing truck. With several decades worth of grime to clean off its not a pleasant job but once its completed we'll be able to switch our attentions to preparing the axle to be released from the main body of the trailing truck. Whilst the trailing truck is not being work on its covered by a tarp to keep it dry and protected from the elements
