Story
I am currently running everyday for 365 days to fight against my own mental health and motivate others in taking action to fight back against mental health problems. In the past, I have suffered with depression, anxiety and depersonaliation and I felt hopeless and lost in life. It is something I would never want to experience again.
Since I was 18 I have suffered with my mental health. In 2018, I was at my worst. at the start of 2019, I knew the only person that could change the way I felt was me, so I decided to fight back against my own mental health and become a stronger version of myself. Since then, I have continuously pushed myself out my comfort zone and began to take a lot more risks in life. After some time in doing so, I started to become a more stronger, disciplined person. I used to fantasise over this challenge a lot as I knew this would challenge me more mentally then physically.
I wanted to start this challenge because I also want to motivate people to take action on their mental health. You see, we live in a world now where we are sucked into media, we consume a lot of negativity in the world, we view fake lives upon social media platforms that make us question our own, we live in a society were we feel judged by being ourselves. I have started to recognise this and began my own journey to be myself and love who I am and challenge myself everyday. I want to do this to prove to myself I can achieve what I set my mind to and to motivate other that they can do the same.
On day 365, I will be attempting to run my own marathon in Rhyl. Running around Rhyl until I hit 26.2 miles. And my whole journey will be documented on facebook and youtube. My youtube channel is called: Stephen 2.0
This challenge is very personal to me and I just wanted to give a little back to the Glan Clwyd Ablett Unit and NHS staff that help people with mental health struggles and during this pandemic I believe the help is needed more than ever.
Thank you so much for reading the page, any donations would be extremely grateful.
