JAKE HODGSON is crowdfunding

raised of £15,000 target by 159 supporters

Weʼre raising £15,000 to Help raise awarness and support towards Alzheimer's society in UK & Ireland, plus dementia care at Hospice Isle of Man.

Don't have time to donate right now?

In April 2020, I was due to complete the following. Cycling approximately 180+ miles across the width of Ireland, running approximately 12 mile across the width of the Isle of Man and walk 190 mile across the width of England (approximately 382+ miles in total). I will be naming this the, "3 Country Challenge". Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, this has now had to be postponed until 2021, date and time to be confirmed.

The clock will start ticking the moment I start cycling from the west coast of Ireland until I arrive at Robin Hood's Bay, on the East coast of England. The challenge will be to complete this in the shortest time possible, which will include transport time, from Ireland to the Isle of Man, then from the Isle of Man to England and transport time to each starting point, plus overnight accommodation throughout, after the challenge commences. I aim to try and complete this within 12-13 days.

Due to amazing support from public donations over my last two challenges, I was able to raise an amazing total of £17,180 for Isle of Man Hospice & Rebecca House Children's Hospice.

On this occasion I will be helping to raise awareness for the Alzheimer's Society and the fight against Dementia, which can unfortunately effect us all, especially in later life. Not only does this have a devastating effect for the person diagnosed with dementia, it can also cause awful circumstances for the patients family dealing with it.

As I will be crossing 3 countries during the challenge, I will be involved with not only Alzheimer's society UK and Ireland, dementia care at Isle of Man Hospice, so all 3 countries will benefit from donations made, by splitting it equally 3 ways.

I hope you will help support me on this great challenge.

Please give whatever you can to help towards a cure or care of Dementia.

Thank you.

Jake Hodgson (Youth Ambassador for Isle of Man Hospice)

I would like to say a hugh thank you to Gary Christian and all the customers of Tesco for a wonderful £510 donation. Gary is a member of staff at Tesco and during his breaks, he has been playing guitar to entertain everyone in the queue.

This donation is on behalf of Maryjane Watson, who very kindly made 2 Yorkshire Rose flat caps, for myself and my Dad to wear on our walks. Thank you.

About the fundraiser

I love the outdoors and going on long walks. There is so much beautiful and breathtaking scenery on the Isle of Man and in the UK & Ireland and life can be very short, so I want to see as much as I can before it is too late, but by doing so, try to help others at the same time.
