Story

In the fight against Covid-19, the NHS and other key workers are struggling to secure the necessary PPE to protect themselves whilst saving the lives of our loved ones. Our doctors, nurses, care home workers, pharmacists and other key workers are all putting their lives at risk, every day, to help us. We are in the fortunate position of being able to help.

A small group of dedicated engineers have 3D printers as part of home hobbies. These have the capability to produce face visor shields, to protect those on the front line. There is a clear shortage and the demands on this small team are rapidly out-stripping the rate at which these can be produced. A new 3D printer can be bought for around 150 GBP-400GBP. A couple of pounds provides enough materials to make a face visor.

Once printed, these face visor shields will be given to the key workers free of charge. Within the first weekend of this project, face visors were shipped to Leeds Hospital, and Pendle Support, to provide support. Within a few days, nearly 2000 masks have been requested.

Now, more than ever, our NHS workers need us. They need you. All donations given will be used to buy the 3D printing filament material, the acetate sheets, and printers to accelerate the supply of these visors to the people who need them.
