The Three Horseshoes premises is the ONLY venue available for gatherings in Turves. In the past, it has been used for regular drinking, meals, family gatherings, birthday celebrations, election administration, public meetings, private club meetings, firework parties and national celebrations.
The pub, the Three Horseshoes, dates back to at least 1822 (historical and current images of the pub can be viewed here) and gives its name to a nearby railway signal box.
The community is looking to raise fund to purchase the historic landmark within the village of Turves to turn it into a community hub. The vision is to use this area as a cafe, pub, village shop, community function space and more. With opportunity of government and council funding support, we are looking further afield to help support the cause.
