After been given the all clear for Stage II HER2+ breast cancer in January 2015, our dearest friend Susanne was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer at the end of December last year. With tumours in her lymph nodes, chest wall and spine, she was told there was no cure.

Susanne was again offered the standard chemotherapy protocol. She was adamant she did not want to put that poison back in her body, as she is now convinced that the cancer returned and spread as a result of the previous treatment.

Susanne thought about her right to Informed Choice and challenged the medical profession to tell the truth about the long term life-threatening effects of the treatment being recommended. When pushed, they told her the bits they normally don't tell you.

Last time she was told there was 90% certainty the cancer would not return. Yet it did return and spread.This time she was being given 24-36 months - not to mention the side effects and health risks- WTF?!! No way was this good enough for the mother, psychologist, researcher, author, counsellor, and amazing friend to many across the globe.

Susanne is an advocate for toxin free lifestyle and is now embracing an alternative holistic approach to her healing. She is passionate about getting her good cells to teach the cancer cells to stop misbehaving and reproducing. This means she choosing holistic treatments such as acupuncture, reiki, anti-cancer diet and supplements - methods that are not currently deemed 'evidence based'.

What we didn't know about Susanne, was that back in 2015, just months after finishing treatment in Florida, with a busted knee, Susanne climbed a 14,179 ft mountain in California and raised $6,000 for #Breast Cancer Prevention Partners. She fought through it all to help give hope to others.

Susanne's mission at this time is to be able to pull together all the information she has learned and share with other cancer patients around the world...to save them time, give them hope and to shed light on alternative treatments.

The Challenge: We have chosen to challenge ourselves because Susanne is an amazing lady who inspires us all in times of trouble, a pillar of strength and is down right AWESOME! Cancer is messing with the wrong person!
We want to be behind Susanne all the way as she is for us and want to raise pennies to help her in her toxic free journey.

So with one English and one clumsy Irish lass tied together, we will summit snowdon 3 legged with Susanne alongside us in June.
