I'm raising £1250 to support expansion of the Chemotherapy Unit at Luton and Dunstable hospital. In memory of Joanna Louise Ryan

Organised by Harry Grint

Story

3 Peaks. 3 Days. 3-Years-Old.

For Jo, and for Luton and Dunstable's Chemotherapy Unit.

We’re a team of three firefighters – Harry Grint, Sam Lovell, and Ryan Cheater – taking on a powerful challenge: to summit the UK’s three highest peaks – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon – in just three days. And we’ll be doing it with my 3-year-old son, Charlie Grint, alongside us the whole way.

The dates we're aiming to complete this challenge are the 8th, 9th and 10th of May 2025.

This began as a personal adventure – a way to push our limits and make memories. Myself (Harry) and Sam previously completed the Three Peaks with my daughter, Lily Grint, and this time we’re aiming even higher: to complete the challenge again with young Charlie by our side, and attempt to set a Guinness World Record, 3Peaks-3Days-3YearsOld.(application pending).

But what was once a personal goal is now something much deeper.

Our close friend and fellow firefighter Colin Ryan recently lost his wife Joanna after nearly four years of courageously battling breast cancer. Jo never once complained or showed the pain she was living with. All her strength went into protecting their two young boys, Max and Jago, shielding them from heartache and sadness. She gave everything she had, right up until the very end.

Jo was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her presence is missed every single day by more people than can be counted.

Everyone involved with Jo's journey is incredibly grateful to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital cancer ward, whose care, compassion, and kindness made Jo’s journey as comfortable as it could have been. Their support has been a true source of comfort through unimaginable pain.

Now, we’re raising money to give back – and to carry Jo’s memory forward in a way that will help countless others.

💙 All funds raised will go directly toward the expansion of the Chemotherapy Unit at L&D Hospital. This includes the purchase of new chemotherapy recliner chairs, infusion pumps, heated pads, and scalp cooler caps – tangible improvements that will make a lasting difference to patients undergoing treatment.
