Story
Sam, Shauna, Jess, Ashley, Dan and Alice are doing the 3 Peak Challenge over the 25th & 26th August to raise money for Woodlarks Adventurers Camp.
Woodlarks Adventurers Camp is a summer camp for boys age 10 -18 with a range of disabilities and enables a camping and outdoor experience and respite for parents. Jess and Sam have been helping at the camp for 9 years and Dan for 5 years. We have just returned from an amazing week there full of activities, some of which include: swimming, camp fire singing and sleeping out under the stars. Jess, Ashley and Sam have also helped at the working parties which help fix up the camp during the year ready for the summer camps.
To raise money for this wonderful camp we will be doing the 3 Peak Challenge which involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres.
The three mountains are:
- Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m)
- Scafell Pike, in England (978m)
- Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)
The challenge is extremely physically demanding as each Peak up and down needs to be completed in roughly 5 hours in order to achieve the 24 hour target time.
Woodlarks in an amazing place and we would be very grateful for any donations which will all go towards projects and activities at the camp.
Thank you in advance for your kindness,
Sam, Shauna, Jess, Ashley, Dan and Alice
