3 Peaks Challenge – Climbing for a Cause ⛰️🏔️⛰️

This summer, over the weekend of 27-29th June a group of us will be taking on the ultimate endurance test - the 3 Peaks Challenge , where we aim to conquer Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon, travel between included all within 24 hours! The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). While the challenge is tough, we’re doing it for a reason that’s even bigger: to raise money for the below incredible charities, each one chosen by a member of the team. 🫶

We’re pushing ourselves to the limit, scaling the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales back-to-back. Your donations will not only keep us motivated through each gruelling ascent, but they’ll make a real difference to causes we’re passionate about.

Every pound raised will be split evenly and go directly to the charities listed, supporting causes that include mental health, chronic disease, children’s welfare, and more. Any contribution, big or small, will help us reach our goal and provide much-needed support to those who need it most. 🙏

Feel free to leave an encouraging and supportive message along with your donation. Thank you for your generosity and support as we take on this adventure!

Now meet the mountaineers & our chosen charities:

James Glazebrook: MS Trust

"All of these charities are close to my heart as these boys are my best friends and they all have their personal and meaningful reasons for choosing their own charities.

That being said the charity I have chosen is the MS Trust as for the last 18 years, my sister has been battling with MS. I have done many charity fundraising events for MS such as a boxing match, a sky dive, a live sponsored wax, but I am fully aware this one is going to be the most physical and mentally demanding by far but it’s nothing compared to what my sister goes through every day.

She is the strongest, most determined and positive person I know who never lets her MS get in the way of life. Shes the most amazing mum, sister, wife and daughter and a hard working head of year teacher at a school. She inspires me more than she will ever know just because of her un measured mental strength to always keep going, which is exactly what I’m going to need for this challenge. My inspiration and my reason is to support her in any way I can, so please, dig deep and donate for which ever charity touches your heart the most, but know that with every donation given it will give us boys so much more reason to do everyone proud and raise as much as possible for our chosen charities" 🩵

Dean Catney: National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA)

"This summer, I’ll be pushing my body to the limit as I take on the 3 Peaks Challenge with the gang to raise money for NACOA, a charity very close to my heart. Growing up in a home where alcohol was abused, life wasn’t always easy for us. Unfortunately my step-dad became dependent on alcohol, and despite multiple attempts at rehab, he tragically lost his life to his addiction spanning over a couple of decades.

Since then, I’m proud to say my mum has turned her life around and now enjoys meaningful time with our family more than ever. Supporting NACOA means the world to me because I want other vulnerable children to have access to the support and safe spaces that can make all the difference." 💛

Louis Webb: MIND Charity

"My chosen charity is MIND, because I firmly believe that everyone struggling with their mental health deserves access to high-quality care, support, and understanding. Mental health should be treated with the same importance as physical health, and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect, no matter their circumstances.

This cause is deeply personal to me, as I’ve tragically lost close friends and family to mental health & have had my fair share of challenges. These struggles have left a lasting impact on me, and I’ve seen firsthand how vital support and awareness can be in making a difference.

Supporting MIND feels incredibly fulfilling because their work provides hope, resources, and a voice to those who may feel alone in their journey. By raising funds, I hope to help them continue their incredible work, ensuring no one has to face their mental health challenges without the support they deserve." 💙

Janek Zysemil: Dogs Trust

"I’ve chosen Dogs Trust as my charity for the 3 Peaks Challenge because of the incredible bond I share with my trusted French bulldog, Duke. He’s been more than just a pet - he’s helped me through some very tough times, offering companionship, loyalty, and love when I needed it most.

The impact a dog can have on your life is immeasurable, and I want to give back to an organisation that helps other dogs find their forever homes, where they can provide the same life-changing support. Dogs Trust’s work is incredibly important to me, and I’m proud to raise funds to support their mission of ensuring every dog has a happy and safe life." 🖤

Billy Wharton: Barnardo's

"Taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge for Barnardo’s is more than just a personal achievement; it’s an opportunity to make a real difference for vulnerable children. My reason for selecting this charity organisation is simply because my grandmother, who has now passed, was a long and committed supporter of this charity, so I feel it’d only be right for me to carry on her support.

Barnardo’s helps provide safety, support, and brighter futures for kids facing unimaginable challenges. This challenge will push me to my limits as I climb three of the UK’s highest peaks, but every step will be worth it, knowing it helps change children’s lives for the better.

Your support means everything - it’ll not only motivate me through the toughest moments but also contribute to vital work that gives children hope, security, and the chance to thrive." 💚
