Story

"This is a shared fundraising page for everyone taking part in the National Three Peaks Stair Climbing Challenge on Monday 13th April 2020. Please comment on your donations so we know who you are supporting.

Social distancing has given me a once in a lifetime opportunity to face the challenge of the iconic National Three Peaks from the comfort of my own home. I (or me and my team) will climb a total of 3408m, being the combined height of Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike (obviously I have to descend that far also!).

I am raising money for UTC South Durham, a STEM-focused school and sixth form for 14-19 year olds with a strong technical and academic focus who are currently producing PPE visors to be donated to key workers. They have had orders for thousands of visors, and are currently scaling up production to meet demand. All proceeds from this event will go towards visor production, with any surplus being donated to other charities closely linked to supporting individuals affected by Covid-19.

The visors cost around 50p each to manufacture, so a £20 donation is enough to produce around 40 visors to protect 40key workers from infection.

I will be running on Monday so keep an eye on social media for updates!"
